E-CAiO Measures: C = CO2, A = Agent, I = Agent Identification, O = Oxygen
The E-CAiO module identify the anesthetic and calculate the concentration by measuring the absorbance at five wavelengths in the 8-9 µm band and solving the concentration from a set of five equations.
The gas module is an important part of the ventilator and is responsible for providing a mixture of oxygen and air. Specifically, the gas module includes oxygen inlet, air inlet, gas mixing part, bacterial filter, temperature sensor, etc.
The difference between M Series (Black) Modules and E Series (White) Modules are simply that E-Series is the later type which comes with GE Patient connectors, rectangular as opposed to round, in the M Series Modules.
